EVERY FRIDAY IS PRAYER DAY
We had a great initial day of prayer with over 250 people taking 15 minutes from their day to pray for God to work in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. We are praying for our church, our community and our country. We are praying for those affected by the virus and those in the heath field who are serving so faithfully and sacrificially.
Our Pastor has called us to continue this effort and make every Friday a Day of Prayer. Those who have signed up have committed to continue. We invite you to join us. No need to sign up, just pray. We ask you to set aside 15 minutes during the day to stop and pray. A new prayer guide will be posted here each Thursday to help direct your prayer time.
Of course, every day is a day for us to pray. We are reminded to continually be in a spirit of prayer.
2 Chronicles 7:14
”And if my people, who bear my name, humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”
FBC PRAYER LETTER for JANUARY 3, 2025
FBC Day of Prayer Friday, January 3, 2025
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you, for everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and the one who knocks; the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8
This is the first Prayer Letter for 2025. The Apostle Paul writing to the Church in Philippi says: “But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead” Philippians 3:13. On this first Friday of 2025, let us spend 15 minutes praying for these five things to ponder in order to become a more mature follower of Jesus!
1. Wisdom: For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6 Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Colossians 3:16
2. Strength: He gives strength to the faint and strengthens the powerless. Isaiah 40:29 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart celebrates, and I give thanks to him with my song. Psalm 28:7
3. Strong and Courageous: Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For the Lord your God is the one who will go with you; he will not leave you or abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
4. Protection: But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them shout for joy forever. May you shelter them, and may those who love your name boast about you. Psalm 5:11 2 But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. Thessalonians 3:3
5. Guidance: Let a wise person listen and increase learning, and let a discerning person obtain guidance— Proverbs 1:5 Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path. Psalm 119:105
Here are additional admonitions from the Word of God for 2025
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lam. 3:22-23
"Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Is. 43:18-19
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." 2 Cor. 5:17
"Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own." Phil. 3:13
"Therefore, repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord." Acts 3:19
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jer. 29:11
"But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Is. 40:31
"I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them..." Ezekiel 11:19

"You crown the year with your goodness, and your paths drip with abundance." Psalm. 65:11
Would you please consider joining the 78 people who pray for one hour during our 24-hour Prayer Time. Our goal is to have 100 people praying during the 24-hour time. We pray from 8:15 am on the second Saturday morning to the last hour which begins at 7:15 am on the second Sunday morning every month. Next Sunday, January 5, 2025, two prayer team members will be at the Connect Centers with a form for you to select your hour. January 11-12, 2025, is our first 24-hour prayer time for 2025.
If you would like to share a Prayer Request that we can join you in praying for, go to fbct.org/prayer. You will find a form at the bottom of the page that can be easily and quickly filled out and submitted with your praise or request. These requests will be sent to the prayer team of intercessors. As the Lord answers your request, share your praise in the same form. May we abide in the love of God, the grace of Jesus, and the fellowship of The Holy Spirit.
Yours in Christ,
Bill Graham
